Classes & Workshops

Upcoming Workshop: None Scheduled

Kripalu Yoga

The intention of Kripalu Yoga is to cultivate an internal meditative experience while stretching and recharging the body. Classes begin with warm-up movements and breath awareness to prepare for yoga postures. The heart of each class is a sequence of postures that stretch, strengthen, and balance your body. Each class ends with deep relaxation and meditation. Class levels range from gentle to vigorous. The essence of Kripalu Yoga is a mindful, compassionate practice.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a quiet practice where postures are done primarily on the floor. This class is open to anyone and is especially nice for people who are sedentary or those who have physically demanding jobs. If you are an athlete or have an active fitness practice or lifestyle, Yin Yoga will introduce a quiet balance to your body and mind. Students work deep into the connective tissues of the body - fascia, tendons and ligaments. We work to positively stress the body in ways that allow the body to perform functionally in any activity requiring movement from everyday life activities to fitness activities.

It's All About You

In this hands-on workshop you will learn why you shouldn't force your body into yoga poses that look like models on covers of magazines or images on social media. You will learn what it feels like to "Find Your Edge".  And you will be introduced to the concept of “What Stops Me?” and learn about compression and tension in your body. This workshop has been held at The Yoga Place, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; Secret Harbour, Grenada, West Indies; and Spotlight Yoga Shala, West Palm Beach, Florida.

Yoga for All Play Date

In this interactive workshop you will explore a variety of common yoga postures and experience movement using yoga inspired tools commonly known as "props", as well as learn transitions from one pose to another in common yoga sequences. We will play and have fun learning new ways of doing yoga that open your body that you may not have experienced previously.

Yoga for Neck & Shoulders

Even before getting out of bed in the morning we begin to plug in to the mental space of society, reaching for our cell phones and tablets. In this series of three yoga class style workshops you explore the why's of your own neck and shoulder pain and the ways you can relieve tension with themes of posture, emotions and breath & balance. Each session will progressively build upon the previous one, with a goal to offer you an embodied experience that you can do on your own at any time.

8 - Week Level 1 Beginner Kripalu Yoga Class

This 8-week beginner traditional yoga class is designed for those who have never tried yoga or for those who would like a refresher after taking a break from their practice. We will cover the basics of yoga and learn basic beginner level postures in a fun and safe atmosphere where students can feel free to explore yoga without competition or comparisons. This class is interactive with hands on assistance and time for asking questions. At the end of the period students will have learned a yoga posture flow. (Can be arranged as a Private Instruction Class series.)

8 - Week Level 2 Beginner Kripalu Yoga Class

This 8-week class is perfect for those who participated in the 8 week beginner class and those who have some experience with yoga classes but would like to learn more about the postures and the practice. We will cover postures requiring strength and balance and learn more about breathing techniques and meditation. At the end of the period students will have learned additional postures that take their practice deeper. (Can be arranged as a Private Instruction Class series.)

Private & Themed Yoga Classes

Yoga classes can be private sessions with one or two people or groups. I am available to coordinate yoga classes with a group (bridal parties; girls day out; men's only classes, senior classes, etc.) or to design classes that target a specific body part (lower body, upper body, back, legs, etc.). I specialize in gentle to moderate yoga classes and offer classes to adapt to any level of practice.
